परचलन्ति न वै धर्मात तपॊ दानपरायणाः सवधर्मस्थाः करियावन्तॊ जनास तरेतायुगे ऽभवन ।। ३-१४८-२५ ।।

sanskrit

'They are devoted to asceticism and the giving of gifts. The four orders adhere to their respective duties and perform their rituals. Such are the people of the Treta Yuga.' ।। 3-148-25 ।।

english translation

paracalanti na vai dharmAta tapò dAnaparAyaNAH savadharmasthAH kariyAvantò janAsa taretAyuge 'bhavana || 3-148-25 ||
