कालेन महता वेदाः शक्या गुरु मुखाद विभॊ पराप्तुं तस्माद अयं यत्नः परमॊ मे समास्थितः ।। ३-१३५-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'O Lord, the knowledge of the Vedas, as taught by teachers, is attained only after a long period of study. Therefore, with the aim of attaining proficiency in the Vedas in a short time, I have undertaken these intense efforts.' ।। 3-135-21 ।।

english translation

kAlena mahatA vedAH zakyA guru mukhAda vibhò parAptuM tasmAda ayaM yatnaH paramò me samAsthitaH || 3-135-21 ||
