ततॊ दशसु मासेषु सॊमकस्य विशां पते जज्ञे पुत्रशतं पूर्णं तासु सर्वासु भारत ॥ ३-१२८-६ ॥
'And, O monarch of the earth! After ten months, a full hundred sons were born to Somaka from all those queens, O Bharata.' ॥ 3-128-6 ॥
english translation
जन्तुर जयेष्ठः समभवञ जनित्र्याम एव भारत स तासाम इष्ट एवासीन न तथान्ये निजाः सुताः ॥ ३-१२८-७ ॥
'Jantu became the eldest, born of his former mother, and was the most beloved to the queens; none of their own sons were as dear to them.' ॥ 3-128-7 ॥
english translation
तच च लक्षणम अस्यासीत सौवर्णं पार्श्व उत्तरे तस्मिन पुत्रशते चाग्र्यः स बभूव गुणैर युतः ॥ ३-१२८-८ ॥
'On his back was the golden mark, and of the hundred sons, he was the foremost in merit.' ॥ 3-128-8 ॥
english translation
ततः स लॊकम अगमत सॊमकस्य गुरुः परम अथ काले वयतीते तु सॊमकॊ ऽपय अगमत परम ॥ ३-१२८-९ ॥
'In due time, Somaka's family priest passed away, and Somaka himself also departed this life.' ॥ 3-128-9 ॥
english translation
अथ तं नरके घॊरे पच्यमानं ददर्श सः तम अपृच्छत किमर्थं तवं नरके पच्यसे दविज ॥ ३-१२८-१० ॥
'Thereafter, Somaka witnessed the priest suffering in a dreadful hell, being tormented in the flames. Then, he asked him, 'O Brahmana, why are you being tormented in this dreadful hell?'' ॥ 3-128-10 ॥
