ततः सथित्वा नरश्रेष्ठं भगीरथम उवाच ह परयाचस्व महाबाहॊ शैलराजसुतां नदीम पतमानां सरिच्छ्रेष्ठां धारयिष्ये तरिविष्टपात ॥ ३-१०८-४ ॥
'There, he addressed Bhagiratha, the most virtuous of men, saying, "O mighty prince! Pray to the river, the daughter of the king of mountains." I shall sustain that most illustrious of rivers as she descends from the heavenly realms.' ॥ 3-108-4 ॥
