स तथोक्तस्तुनिर्भर्त्स्यकुम्भकर्णोमहोदरम् । अब्रवीद्राक्षसश्रेष्ठंभ्रातरंरावणंततः ॥ ६-६५-१
Kumbhakarna having heard Mahodara, warned him not to speak that way and spoke to Ravana, the foremost of Rakshasas. [6-65-1]
english translation
सोऽहंतवभयंघोरंवधात्तस्यदुरात्मनः । रामस्याद्यप्रमार्जामिनिर्वैरोहिसुखीभ ॥ ६-६५-२
"You know me. I will get rid of your enmity killing the cruel minded Rama. Be fearless and happy now." [6-65-2]
english translation
गर्जन्ति न वृथाशूरानिर्जलाइवतोयदाः । पश्यसम्पद्यमानंतुगर्जितंयुधिकर्मणा ॥ ६-६५-३
"Warriors will not roar wastefully like waterless clouds. You will see me roaring after having completed the action." [6-65-3]
english translation
न मर्षयन्तिचात्मानंसम्भावयतिनात्मना । अदर्शयित्वाशूरास्तुकर्मकुर्वन्तिदुष्करम् ॥ ६-६५-४
"Warriors do not tolerate even when glorified. They never praise themselves. They accomplish difficult deeds without displaying them." [6-65-4]
english translation
विक्लबानामबुद्धीनांराज्ञापण्डितमानिनाम् । श्रृण्वतासदितमिदंत्वाद्विधानांमहोदर ॥ ६-६५-५
"O Mahodara! Your words of appeal will be accepted as cowardly, devoid of intellect and to those who do not know anything, it looks as if you know." [6-65-5]
