ततःप्रजवनाश्वेनरथेनरथिनांवरः । हरीनभ्यहनत्क्रोधाच्छरजालैकम्पनः ॥ ६-५६-६
Then Akampana seated in the chariot drawn by fast moving horses, assailed the Vanaras with a network of arrows. [6-56-6]
english translation
नस्थातुंवानराश्शेकुःकिंपुनर्योद्धुमाहवे । अकम्पनशरैर्भग्नास्सर्वएवविदुद्रुवुः ॥ ६-५६-७
The Vanaras could not counter or stand nor fight in battle. What to say more? Shattered by Akampana's arrows, they all took to their heels. [6-56-7]

तान्मृत्युवशमापन्नानकम्पनवंशगतान् । समीक्ष्यहनुमान्ज्ञातीनुपतस्थेमहाबलः ॥ ६-५६-८
Having observed that Vanaras are fallen under the sway of Akampana and under the sway of death, mighty Hanuman approached Akampana. [6-56-8]

तंमहाप्लवगंदृष्टवासर्वेतेप्लवगयूथपा: । समेत्यसमरेवीरास्सहिताःपर्यवारयन् ॥ ६-५६-९
Seeing Hanuman their great leader, all those valiant and the best of the monkeys together rallied and grouped themselves boldly round him. [6-56-9]

अवस्थितंहनूमन्तंतेदृष्टवाहरियूथपा: । बभूवुर्बलवन्तोहिबलवन्तंसमाश्रिताः ॥ ६-५६-१०
Seeing Hanuman, the monkey leaders took their shelter under him, got established firmly and became strong. [6-56-10]
