अथतस्मिन्निमित्तानिदृष्टवालक्ष्मणपूर्वजः । सुग्रीवंसम्परिष्वज्यतथावचनमब्रवीत् ॥ ६-४१-१
Rama, brother of Lakshmana, seeing the signs of war, embraced Sugriva and spoke these words. [6-41-1]

असन्त्ऱ्यमयासार्थंतदिदंसाहसंकृतम् । एवंसाहसुक्तानिनकुर्वन्तिजनेश्वराः ॥ ६-४१-२
- "You have done this courageous feat without consulting me. Rulers do not do such actions. [6-41-2]

संशयेस्थाप्यमांचेदंबलंचसविभीषणम् । कष्टंकृतमिदंवीर साहसंसाहसप्रिय ॥ ६-४१-३
"O hero, who is fond of daring actions! To me, to the army and Vibheeshana you created a great doubt by this bold action of yours. [6-41-3]

इदानींमाकृथावीर एवंविधमचिन्तितम् । त्वयिकिञ्चित्समापन्नेकिंकार्यंसीतयामम ॥ ६-४१-४
"O hero! Do not do this kind of action. Even if you were harmed a bit, of what use is it to me or even to Sita - [6-41-4]

भरतेनमहाबाहो लक्ष्मणेनयवीयसा । शत्रुघ्नेनचशत्रुघ्नस्वशरीरेणवापुन: ॥ ६-४१-५
- Bharata, Satrughna or to Lakshmana or even to my body? O broad shouldered, tamer of foes. [6-41-5]
