ततश्शिखरमारुह्य रामो दशरथात्मजः | कूर्ममीनसमाकीर्णमपश्यत्सलिलाकुलम् || ६-४-९६

Then Rama the son of Dasaratha on climbing to the top (of Mahendra mountain) observed the ocean inhabited by tortoises and fish. [6-4-96]

tatazzikharamAruhya rAmo dazarathAtmajaH | kUrmamInasamAkIrNamapazyatsalilAkulam || 6-4-96

ते सह्यं समतिक्रम्य मलयं च महागिरिम् | आसेदुरानुपूर्व्येण समुद्रं भमनिस्स्वनम् || ६-४-९७

The vanaras crossing over the great Sahya and Malaya mountains one after another reached near the frightening ocean. [6-4-97]

english translation

te sahyaM samatikramya malayaM ca mahAgirim | AsedurAnupUrvyeNa samudraM bhamanissvanam || 6-4-97

अवरुह्य जगामाशु वेलावनमनुत्तमम् | रामो रमयतां श्रेष्ठः ससुग्रीवः सलक्ष्मणः || ६-४-९८

Rama, who causes delight to others, got down (the mountain) along with Lakshmana and Sugriva and soon reached the wood on the sea coast. [6-4-98]

english translation

avaruhya jagAmAzu velAvanamanuttamam | rAmo ramayatAM zreSThaH sasugrIvaH salakSmaNaH || 6-4-98

अथ धौतोपलतलां तोयौघै स्सहसोत्थितैः | वेलामासाद्य विपुलान्रामो वचनमब्रवीत् || ६-४-९९

At once Rama sprung from there (top of mountain) on to an extensive surface of the earth polished by the waves of the ocean spoke these words on reaching there. [6-4-99]

english translation

atha dhautopalatalAM toyaughai ssahasotthitaiH | velAmAsAdya vipulAnrAmo vacanamabravIt || 6-4-99

एते वयमनुप्राप्ता स्सुग्रीव वरुणालयम् | इहेदानीं विचिन्ता साया नः पूर्वसमुत्थिता || ६-४-१००

''Sugriva We have reached the ocean and now we have to think of that idea now, which we thought of earlier. [6-4-1-00]

ete vayamanuprAptA ssugrIva varuNAlayam | ihedAnIM vicintA sAyA naH pUrvasamutthitA || 6-4-100
