संयुगेयुगसङ्काशंशत्रूणांशोकवर्धनम् । सुहृदानन्दनंदीर्घंसागरान्तव्यपाश्रयम् ॥६-२१-६
Those arms were long resembling the shafts of a chariot, which brought grief to the enemies in war and delight to the friends, and like the earth bound by the ocean on all sides. ॥ 6-21-6॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptअसत्याचपुनस्सव्यंज्याघातविगतत्वचम् । दक्षिणोदक्षिणंबाहुंमहापरिघसन्निभम् ॥ ६-२१-७
The aforesaid arm whose skin had been hardened by the strokes of the bow string, off the left arm resembling a great mace and that mighty right arm . - ॥ 6-21-7॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptगोसहस्रप्रदारंमुपधायमहत्भुजम् । अद्यमेमरणंवादतरणंसागरस्यवा ॥ ६-२१-८
- bestowed thousands of cows in charity. Leaning on his powerful elbow he (Rama) said : “Sagara will grant me a passage or he shall be slain by me!”. ॥ 6-21-8॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति रामो धृतिम् कृत्वा महाबाहुर्महोदधिम् । अधिशिश्ये च विधिवत्प्रयतोऽत्र स्थितो मुनिः ॥ ६-२१-९
Having thus resolved, he lay down by the ocean, restraining his speech and with a concentrated mind in accord with tradition. ॥ 6-21-9॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्यरामस्यसुप्तस्यकुशास्तीर्णेमहीतले । नियमादप्रमत्तस्यनिशास्तिस्रोऽतिचक्रमुः ॥ ६-२१-१०
As Rama kept himself alert with a vow and lay on the kusa grass mat spread on the ground, three nights rolled fast. ॥ 6-21-10॥
