तस्मिन्प्रतिहतेऽतुराघवेणमहात्मना । रावणःक्रोधाताम्राक्षस्सौरमस्त्रमुदैरयत् ॥ ६-१०१-६
When the missile of Ravana was turned void by the great self Raghava, Ravana's eyes turned red in anger, and he used a missile presided over by the Sun God. [6-101-6]

ततश्चक्राणिनिष्पेतुर्भास्वराणिमहान्ति च । कार्मुकाद्भीमवेगस्यदशग्रीवस्यधीमतः ॥ ६-१०१-७
Then came forth resplendent and large discuses, from the bow of that intelligent Ravana, of terrific impetuosity. [6-101-7]

तैरासीद्गगनंदीप्तंसन्ततद्भिःरितस्ततः । पतद्भिश्चदिशोदीप्ताश्चन्द्रसूर्यग्रहैरिव ॥ ६-१०१-८
As they landed together from the sky glowing like Sun, moon, and the planets, it illuminated the quarters. [6-101-8]

तानिचिच्छेदबाणौघैश्चक्राणितु स राघवः । आयुधानि च चित्राणिरावणस्यचमूमुखे ॥ ६-१०१-९
Raghava with his shafts shattered the discuses and the weapons of Ravana in the forefront of his army. [6-101-9]

तदस्त्रंतुहतंदृष्टवारावणोराक्षसाधिपः । विव्याथदशभिर्बाणैरामंसर्वेषुमर्मसु ॥ ६-१०१-१०
Seeing that missile struck down, Ravana the Rakshasa king , for his part, pierced Rama with ten arrows in all his vital parts. [6-101-10]
