एवं हि सर्वे गतबुद्धिभावा; जगद विनाशे परमप्रहृष्टाः दुर्गं समाश्रित्य महॊर्मिमन्तं; रत्ना करं वरुणस्यालयं सम ॥ ३-९९-२१ ॥
'Thus, all of them, with their minds gone astray (degraded intelligence), became extremely delighted at the thought of destroying the world. They took refuge in the impregnable (fortress), the abode of Varuna, filled with great waves and jewels.' ॥ 3-99-21 ॥
