अग्निष्टॊमादिभिर यज्ञैर इष्ट्वा विपुलदक्षिणैः न तत फलम अवाप्नॊति तीर्थाभिगमनेन यत ॥ ३-८०-४० ॥
'Indeed, one does not attain the merit gained from a pilgrimage to a tirtha through the performance of the Agnishtoma and other sacrifices, even when accompanied by generous offerings.' ॥ 3-80-40 ॥
