दुःखम एतादृशं पराप्तॊ नलः परपुरंजयः देवनेन नरश्रेष्ठ सभार्यॊ भरतर्षभ ।। ३-७८-६ ।।

sanskrit

'For, O foremost of men, it was in this manner that Nala, the conqueror of hostile cities, fell into distress along with his wife, all due to the misfortunes brought on by the game of dice, O bull among the Bharatas.' ।। 3-78-6 ।।

english translation

duHkhama etAdRzaM parAptò nalaH parapuraMjayaH devanena narazreSTha sabhAryò bharatarSabha || 3-78-6 ||
