कर्म चेत कृतम अन्वेति कर्तारं नान्यम ऋच्छति कर्मणा तेन पापेन लिप्यते नूनम ईश्वरः ॥ ३-३१-४१ ॥
'If actions follow solely their doer and affect no one else, then it is indeed God Himself who bears the stain of every sin committed.' ॥ 3-31-41 ॥

अथ कर्मकृतं पापं न चेत कर्तारम ऋच्छति कारणं बलम एवेह जनाञ शॊचामि दुर्बलान ॥ ३-३१-४२ ॥
'If, however, the sin of an action does not attach to the doer, then it is individual power, rather than God, that governs such acts. Hence, I mourn for those who lack strength.' ॥ 3-31-42 ॥
