विदितं तेन शीलं ते सर्वस्य जगतस तथा यथा तवं भिक्षितः सद्भिर ददास्य एव न याचसे ॥ ३-२८४-१२ ॥

sanskrit

'He, like the rest of the world, knows thy noble nature— that when approached by the righteous, thou givest freely, but never acceptest gifts in return.' ॥ 3-284-12 ॥

english translation

viditaM tena zIlaM te sarvasya jagatasa tathA yathA tavaM bhikSitaH sadbhira dadAsya eva na yAcase ॥ 3-284-12 ॥
