एवम उक्तस तु गन्धर्वः पाण्डवेन महात्मना उवाच यत कर्ण वयं मन्त्रयन्तॊ विनिर्गताः दरष्टारः सम सुखाद धीनान सदारान पाण्डवान इति ॥ ३-२३८-३ ॥

sanskrit

'Thus addressed by the illustrious son of Pandu, the chief of the Gandharvas, O Karna, revealed to the Pandavas the purpose of our visit: that we had come to behold the sons of Pandu with their wife, all plunged in sorrow.' ॥ 3-238-3 ॥

english translation

evama uktasa tu gandharvaH pANDavena mahAtmanA uvAca yata karNa vayaM mantrayantò vinirgatAH daraSTAraH sama sukhAda dhInAna sadArAna pANDavAna iti ॥ 3-238-3 ॥
