मातरं सदृशीं तात पितॄन अन्ये च मन्यते कुष्करं कुरुते माता विवर्धयति या परजाः ।। ३-१९६-१५ ।।

sanskrit

'Some regard the mother as superior, and some the father. However, it is the mother who brings forth and raises the offspring, and this, in my opinion, is far more difficult.' ।। 3-196-15 ।।

english translation

mAtaraM sadRzIM tAta pitRRna anye ca manyate kuSkaraM kurute mAtA vivardhayati yA parajAH || 3-196-15 ||
