[वै] नगॊत्तमं परस्रवणैर उपेतं; दिशां गजैः किंनरपक्षिभिश च सुखं निवासं जहतां हि तेषां; न परीतिर आसीद भरतर्षभाणाम ।। ३-१७४-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana said, 'Having departed from their blissful home on the beautiful mountain, filled with flowing streams, inhabited by birds, the elephants of the eight directions, and the supernatural attendants of Kuvera, all happiness abandoned the foremost of men of Bharata's lineage.'' ।। 3-174-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] nagòttamaM parasravaNaira upetaM; dizAM gajaiH kiMnarapakSibhiza ca sukhaM nivAsaM jahatAM hi teSAM; na parItira AsIda bharatarSabhANAma || 3-174-1 ||
