[यु] भीमसेन यमौ चॊभौ पाञ्चालि च निबॊधत नास्ति भूतस्य नाशॊ वै पश्यतास्मान वनेचरान ॥ ३-१४२-१ ॥
'Yudhishthira said, "O Bhimasena, O Panchali, and ye twins, listen to my words. The deeds performed in a previous life do not vanish without yielding their consequences."' ॥ 3-142-1 ॥
english translation
दुर्बलाः कलेशिताः समेति यद बरवीथेतरेतरम अशक्ये ऽपि वरजामेति धनंजय दिदृक्षया ॥ ३-१४२-२ ॥
'Behold! Even we, as wanderers in the wilderness, must support one another in our weary state. To see Dhananjaya, we must endure great hardships and traverse impassable paths.' ॥ 3-142-2 ॥
english translation
तन मे दहति गात्राणि तूलराशिम इवानलः यच च वीरं न पश्यामि धनंजयम उपान्तिके ॥ ३-१४२-३ ॥
'This burns me like fire consumes a heap of cotton. O hero, I do not see Dhananjaya by my side.' ॥ 3-142-3 ॥
english translation
तस्य दर्शनतृष्णं मां सानुजं वनम आस्थितम याज्ञसेन्याः परामर्शः स च वीर दहत्य उत ॥ ३-१४२-४ ॥
'I dwell in the forest with my younger brothers, eager to behold him. This thought, along with the memory of the grievous insult to Yajnaseni, torments me.' ॥ 3-142-4 ॥

नकुलात पूर्वजं पार्थं न पश्याम्य अमितौजसम अजेयम उग्रधन्वानं तेन तप्ये वृकॊदर ॥ ३-१४२-५ ॥
'O Vrikodara, I do not see the invincible Partha, of the mighty bow and unmatched strength, who is the elder brother of Nakula. For this reason, I am filled with misery.' ॥ 3-142-5 ॥
