विहितं भक्षणं राजन पीड्यमानस्य मे कषुधा मा भाङ्क्षीर धर्मलॊभेन धर्मम उत्सृष्टवान असि ॥ ३-१३१-२ ॥
'I have been sorely afflicted with hunger. Do not, thinking you are upholding virtue, withhold from me that which has been ordained by the Deity as my food. For in doing so, you would not be serving righteousness, but forsaking it.' ॥ 3-131-2 ॥
