स तप्यमानः सुमहत तपॊयॊगसमन्वितः आससाद महात्मानं तर्यक्षं तरिपुरमर्दनम ॥ ३-१०४-१० ॥

sanskrit

'Longing for a son, he devoted himself to the practice of severe penances. While engaged in these rigorous austerities, he also immersed himself in the contemplative discipline known as Yoga.' ॥ 3-104-10 ॥

english translation

sa tapyamAnaH sumahata tapòyògasamanvitaH AsasAda mahAtmAnaM taryakSaM taripuramardanama ॥ 3-104-10 ॥
