[वै] मार्कण्डेयं महात्मानम ऊचुः पाण्डुसुतास तदा माहात्म्यं दविजमुख्यानां शरॊतुम इच्छाम कथ्यताम ।। ३-१८२-१ ।।

'Vaisampayana continued, "The sons of Pandu, with eager hearts, spoke to the high-souled Markandeya, saying, 'O revered one, we wish to hear about the greatness of the Brahmanas. Please, tell us of it!'"' ।। 3-182-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] mArkaNDeyaM mahAtmAnama UcuH pANDusutAsa tadA mAhAtmyaM davijamukhyAnAM zaròtuma icchAma kathyatAma || 3-182-1 ||
