स वै यत्नेन महता तासु पुत्रं महीपतिः कं चिन नासादयाम आस कालेन महता अपि ॥ ३-१२७-३ ॥

'He made great efforts, yet was unable to have a single son from any of his wives, and a long time passed as he remained without an heir.' ॥ 3-127-3 ॥

sa vai yatnena mahatA tAsu putraM mahIpatiH kaM cina nAsAdayAma Asa kAlena mahatA api ॥ 3-127-3 ॥
