हरिः ॐ । विश्वं विष्णुर्वषट्कारो भूतभव्यभवत्प्रभुः । भूतकृद्भूतभृद्भावो भूतात्मा भूतभावनः ॥ १॥

Lord viṣṇu is the entire universe itself. He is the all-pervading presence that enters and fills all things. He is the sacred sound “vaṣaṭ” used in Vedic sacrifices, representing the spirit of offering. He is the supreme Lord who governs all three aspects of time — past, future, and present. He is the creator of all beings. He sustains and supports all of creation. He is the pure being or existence behind all appearances. He is the inner Self of all creatures and the one who nurtures, develops, and uplifts all beings in the universe.

पूतात्मा परमात्मा च मुक्तानां परमा गतिः। अव्ययः पुरुषः साक्षी क्षेत्रज्ञोऽक्षर एव च॥२॥

He is the pure Self (pūtātmā), untouched by sin or impurity. He is also the supreme Self (paramātmā) that transcends all limitations. For the liberated souls (muktānāṃ), He is the ultimate destination and final goal (paramāgatiḥ), the supreme refuge to which they return. He is imperishable (avyayaḥ) and never undergoes change or decay. He is the cosmic person (puruṣaḥ) present in all beings. He is the witness (sākṣī) who silently observes all actions without being affected. He is the knower of the field (kṣētrajñaḥ) — the conscious principle within the body. He is also the imperishable reality (akṣaraḥ) that never perishes, even when all else does.

योगो योगविदां नेता प्रधानपुरुषेश्वरः। नारसिंहवपुः श्रीमान् केशवः पुरुषोत्तमः॥३॥

He is yōgaḥ – the essence of spiritual union or discipline itself. As yōgavidāṃ nētā, He is the leader and guide of those who are established in Yoga—those who pursue self-realization. He is pradhāna-puruṣa-īśvaraḥ – the Lord of both prakṛti (nature, matter) and puruṣa (consciousness or Self). In essence, He is the Supreme Controller of both the seen and the unseen. He took the form of Narasiṁha (half-man, half-lion), a powerful incarnation to protect His devotee Prahlāda and destroy evil. He is śrīmān, the abode of all auspiciousness and wealth, ever accompanied by śrī (Lakṣmī). He is kēśavaḥ, the one who destroyed the demon Kaśa and who is also known as the lord of the senses (ka = Brahmā, īśa = controller). Finally, He is puruṣōttamaḥ – the Supreme Person, beyond both the perishable (body) and imperishable (soul), as declared in the Bhagavad Gītā (15.18).

सर्वः शर्वः शिवः स्थाणुर्भूतादिर्निधिरव्ययः। संभवो भावनो भर्ता प्रभवः प्रभुरीश्वरः॥४॥

He is everything (sarvaḥ) — the all-encompassing reality. He is also the essence of all (sarvaḥ) — the substratum in which all names and forms appear. He is auspicious (śivaḥ) in the truest sense, being free from all defects and the source of all that is good. As sthāṇuḥ, He is steady, motionless, unchanging like a pillar — the eternal support of the universe. He is the origin of all beings (bhūtaādiḥ) and also the storehouse or repository of all that exists (nidhiḥ). Finally, He is imperishable (avyayaḥ), not subject to decay or destruction. He is sambhavaḥ – the one who arises by His own will, self-born and self-existent. He is bhāvanaḥ – the one who creates, develops, and fosters all beings. He is bhartā – the supporter and protector of the universe. He is prabhavaḥ – the source and origin of all creation. As prabhuḥ, He is all-powerful, able to do anything without effort. Finally, He is īśvaraḥ – the Supreme Lord and controller of everything.

स्वयंभूः शम्भुरादित्यः पुष्कराक्षो महास्वनः। अनादिनिधनो धाता विधाता धातुरुत्तमः॥५॥

He is self-born (svayambhūḥ), source of happiness and existence (śambhuḥ), and radiant like the sun (ādityaḥ). His lotus-like eyes (puṣkarākṣaḥ) reflect purity and beauty. His majestic voice (mahāsvanaḥ) resounds like thunder, commanding all creation. He is eternal, with no beginning or end (anādi-nidhanaḥ). As sustainer (dhātā) and governor of fate (vidhātā), He upholds and rules the cosmos. He is the supreme cause of all causes (dhātur-uttamaḥ).
