अभार्याश्च सभार्याश्च सन्त्यत्र वनचारिणः । लुब्धेभ्यो विप्रयुक्तेभ्यस्तेभ्यो नस्तुमुलं भयम् ॥ ४-१९-१६
'There are monkeys wandering in the forest ( sent away by Vali ). Some of them have made others' wives their own and some have been separated from their wives. They are a great cause of fear.' [4-19-16]
english translation
अल्पान्तरगतानां तु श्रुत्वा वचनमङ्गना । आत्मनः प्रतिरूपं सा बभाषे चारुहासिनी ॥ ४-१९-१७
Hearing the words of the pettyminded monkeys, Tara spoke to them in her own way with a gentle smile [4-19-17]
english translation
पुत्रेण मम किं कार्यं राज्येनच किमात्मना । कपिसिंहे महाभागे तस्मिन्भर्तरि नश्यति ॥ ४-१९-१८
- 'Now that the glorious Vali, a lion among monkeys, my husband is dying, of what purpose is the son, or the kingdom or my own life? [4-19-18]
english translation
पादमूलं गमिष्यामि तस्यैवाहं महात्मनः । योऽसौ रामप्रयुक्तेन शरेण विनिपातितः ॥ ४-१९-१९
'I will seek the soles of the feet of the great soul who has been killed by the arrow discharged by Rama.' [4-19-19]
english translation
एवमुक्त्वा प्रदुद्राव रुदन्ती शोककर्शिता । शिरश्चोरश्च बाहुभ्यां दुःखेन समभिध्नती ॥ ४-१९-२०
So saying, the griefstricken, weeping Tara hastened, sadly beating with both hands her head and her chest. [4-19-20]
