Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram
ईशानः प्राणदः प्राणो ज्येष्ठः श्रेष्ठः प्रजापतिः। हिरण्यगर्भो भूगर्भो माधवो मधुसूदनः॥८॥
He is the Supreme Lord (īśānaḥ), the giver of life-force (prāṇadaḥ), and the very breath of life itself (prāṇaḥ). He is the eldest of all beings (jyēśṭhaḥ), the most superior and excellent (śrēśṭhaḥ), and the creator of all living beings (prajāpatiḥ). He is the golden cosmic source (hiraṇyagarbhaḥ), the support and holder of the Earth (bhūgarbhaḥ), the Lord of LakShmI and the origin of bliss and knowledge (mādhavaḥ), and the destroyer of the demon Madhu who represents inner ignorance (madhusūdanaḥ).
