तस्य प्रस्थेषु रम्येषु सिंहाः पक्षगमाः स्थिताः । तिमिमत्स्यगजांश्चैव नीडान्यारोपयन्ति ते ॥ ४-४२-१६

'On the slopes of that mountain you will find lions called Pakshagamas, that is lions with wings. They carry the whales, fishes and elephants from the sea to their shelters on the beautiful mountain slopes. [4-42-16]

english translation

तानि नीडानि सिंहानां गिरिशृङ्गगताश्च ये । दृप्तास्तृप्ताश्च मातङ्गास्तोयदस्वननिस्वनाः ॥ ४-४२-१७

'The proud elephants wandering on the mountain slopes and in the caves of lions. They would be happy trumpeting like thundering clouds . - [4-42-17]

विचरन्ति विशालेऽस्मिंस्तोयपूर्णे समन्ततः । तस्य शृङ्गं दिवस्पर्शं काञ्चनं चित्रपादपम् ॥ ४-४२-१८

सर्वमाशु विचेतव्यं कपिभिः कामरूपिभिः । कोटिं तत्र समुद्रे तु काञ्चनीं शतयोजनाम् ॥ ४-४२-१९

- should be searched by the monkeys capable of assuming any form at their will without delay. Towards the end of the sea, extended over a hundred yojanas, with the dazzling golden tip, a mountain . - [4-42-19]

english translation

दुर्दर्शां पारियात्रस्य गतां द्रक्ष्यथ वानराः । कोट्यस्तत्र चतुर्विंशद्गन्धर्वाणां तपस्विनाम् ॥ ४-४२-२०

- called Pariyatra, O monkeys you will see. It is difficult to gaze because of its brilliance. There are twenty four crore gandharvas, leading an ascetic life - [4-42-20]
