अथाङ्गदस्तस्य वचो निशम्य सम्भ्रान्तभावः परिदीनवक्त्रः । निपत्य तूर्णं नृपतेस्तरस्वी ततः रुमायाश्चरणौ ववन्दे ॥ ४-३१-३६

On hearing Lakshmana's words powerful Angada felt agitated. His face turned pale. He went and prostrated at once to the king and then to the queen, Ruma. [4-31-36]

english translation

संङ्गृह्य पादौ पितुरग्र्यतेजाः जग्राह मातुः पुनरेव पादौ । पादौ रुमायाश्च निपीडयित्वा निवेदयामास ततस्तमर्थम् ॥ ४-३१-३७

Highly brilliant Angada holding his father's feet first, then mother's and thereafter Ruma's, reported the matter to Sugriva. [4-31-37]

english translation

स निद्रामदसंवीतो वानरो न विबुद्धवान् । बभूव मदमत्तश्च मदनेन च मोहितः ॥ ४-३१-३८

The monkey (Sugriva) was too drowsy with drink, too intoxicated with passion to come back to his senses. [4-31-38]

english translation

ततः किलकिलां चक्रुर्लक्ष्मणं प्रेक्ष्य वानराः । प्रसादयन्तस्तं क्रुद्धं भयमोहितचेतसः ॥ ४-३१-३९

Looking at angry Lakshmana, and scared at heart, the monkeys started making a noise in order to please him. [4-31-39]

ते महौघनिभं दृष्ट्वा वज्राशनिसमस्वनम् । सिंहनादं समं चक्रुर्लक्ष्मणस्य समीपतः ॥ ४-३१-४०

They saw Lakshmana advancing like a mighty flood and went near him making sounds like the thunderbolt or a lion. [4-31-40]
