जीवितान्तकरं घोरं सादृश्यात्तु विशङ्कितः | मूलघातो न नौ स्याद्धि द्वयोरपि कृतो मया || ४-१२-३३
'I was doubtful because of your similar appearance. I thought that I should not strike at the very root of the interests of both of us. Therefore, I did not release the terrific and deadly arrow. [4-12-33]
त्वयि वीरे विपन्ने हि अज्ञानाल्लाघवान्मया | मौढ्यं च मम बाल्यं च ख्यापितं स्यात्कपीश्वर || ४-१२-३४
'When my unawareness and fallacy hazardously afflicts none but you in the form of my own arrow, oh, brave lord of monkeys, then I will be establishing my own imbecility and naivety, isn't it. [4-12-34]
