पूर्वमस्माकमप्यासीत्कश्चिद्गतिपराक्रमः । ते वयं वयसः पारमनुप्राप्तास्स्म साम्प्रतम् ॥ ४-६५-११
- 'Earlier I was also very courageous, but now I have become old and reached the fag end of life. ॥ 4-65-11॥

pUrvamasmAkamapyAsItkazcidgatiparAkramaH । te vayaM vayasaH pAramanuprAptAssma sAmpratam ॥ 4-65-11
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकिन्तु नैवं गते शक्यमिदं कार्यमुपेक्षितुम् । यदर्थं कपिराजश्च रामश्च कृतनिश्चयौ ॥ ४-६५-१२
'However in this situation, it is not possible for us to neglect (our task) as it is the order of the monkey king and Rama who are determined to achieve the objective. ॥ 4-65-12॥
english translation
kintu naivaM gate zakyamidaM kAryamupekSitum । yadarthaM kapirAjazca rAmazca kRtanizcayau ॥ 4-65-12
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसाम्प्रतं कालभेदेन या गतिस्तां निबोधत । नवतिं योजनानां तु गमिष्यामि न संशयः ॥ ४-६५-१३
So listen to the leap I have at this time due to advancement of age, I can undoubtedly go ninety yojanas (even now). ॥ 4-65-13॥

sAmprataM kAlabhedena yA gatistAM nibodhata । navatiM yojanAnAM tu gamiSyAmi na saMzayaH ॥ 4-65-13
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतांश्च सर्वान्हरिश्रेष्ठाञ्जाम्बवान्पुनरब्रवीत् । न खल्वेतावदेवासीद्गमने मे पराक्रमः ॥ ४-६५-१४
Jambavan, the distinguished among the monkeys again said, 'My strength to leap into the sky was not only that much (I was stronger in my youth and could cover longer distances)' ॥ 4-65-14॥

tAMzca sarvAnharizreSThAJjAmbavAnpunarabravIt । na khalvetAvadevAsIdgamane me parAkramaH ॥ 4-65-14
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमया महाबलेश्चैव यज्ञे विष्णुस्सनातनः । प्रदक्षिणीकृतः पूर्वं क्रममाणस्त्रिविक्रमम् ॥ ४-६५-१५
'In the past, at the time of the wellknown yagna (of king Bali) I was very strong. I circumambulated the eternal Vishnu while he was taking three strides (in his incarnation of Trivikrama Vamana). ॥ 4-65-15॥
