प्रत्यभाषत काकुत्स्थ: सुग्रीवं प्रहसन्निव । उपकारफलं मित्रं विदितं मे महाकपे ॥ ४-५-२६
- Rama said to Sugriva with a gentle smile on his face, 'O great monkey I know friendship is the fruit of a beneficial deed. [4-5-26]
english translation
वालिनं तं वधिष्यामि तव भार्यापहारिणम् । अमोघास्सूर्यसङ्काशा ममैते निशिताश्शराः ॥ ४-५-२७
'I will kill that Vali who has usurped your wife. These arrows of mine, sharp, unfailing, ( burning bright ) like the sun - [4-5-27]
english translation
तस्मिन्वालिनि दुर्वृत्ते निपतिष्यन्ति वेगिताः । कङ्कपत्रप्रतिच्छन्ना महेन्द्राशनिसन्निभाः ॥ ४-५-२८
- covered with kanka feathers and comparable to great Indra's thunderbolt will strike at the miscreant Vali soon. [4-5-28]
english translation
तीक्ष्णाग्रा ऋजुपर्वाणस्सरोषा भुजगा इव । तमद्य वालिनं पश्य तीक्ष्णैराशीविषोपमैः । शरैर्विनिहतं भूमौ विकीर्णमिव पर्वतम् ॥ ४-५-२९
'They ( arrows ) are sharp and straight at the tip looking like angry serpents. With these sharp, serpent like arrows Vali will be killed. He will fall down on the ground like a mountain shattered. You will see it now'. [4-5-29]
english translation
स तु तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा राघवस्यात्मनो हितम् । सुग्रीवः परमप्रीतस्सुमहद्वाक्यमब्रवीत् ॥ ४-५-३०
Sugriva, very much pleased with the words of Rama, that are appeasing for his self, spoke highly ( of him ). [4-5-30]
