इदं मृष्टमिदं स्वादु प्रफुल्लमिदमित्यपि । रागयुक्तो मधुकरः कुसुमेष्वेव लीयते ॥ ४-१-८६
Fascinated by the flowers, the honeybees cling to one or the other, humming, 'this is soft, this is sweet, and this is fully blossomed'. [4-1-86]
english translation
निलीय पुनरुत्पत्य सहसाऽन्यत्र गच्छति । मधुलुब्धो मधुकरः पम्पातीरद्रुमेष्वसौ ॥ ४-१-८७
The bees greedy for honey move among the trees on the banks of Pampa. Resting for a while, at one place they fly soon to another. [4-1-87]
english translation
इयं कुसुमसङ्घातैरुपस्तीर्णा सुखाकृता । स्वयं निपतितैर्भूमिश्शयनप्रस्तरैरिव ॥ ४-१-८८
With countless flowers fallen on their own from trees and scattered like a bed of flowers on stone the ground is rendered comfortable enough to relax on. [4-1-88]
english translation
विविधा विविधैः पुष्पैस्तैरेव नगसानुषु । विकीर्णै पीतरक्ताहि सौमित्रे प्रस्तराः कृताः ॥ ४-१-८९
O Saumitri varieties of colourful flowers, some red and some yellow, are spread out on the mountain slopes. [4-1-89]
english translation
हिमान्ते पश्य सौमित्रे वृक्षाणां पुष्पसम्भवम् । पुष्पमासे हि तरवस्सङ्घर्षादिव पुष्पिताः ॥ ४-१-९०
Winter has ended and the season of flowers has set in, O Saumitri The trees are full of flowers as if competing with one another. [4-1-90]
