अस्मिन्सानुनि रम्ये हि मत्तद्विजगणायुते । पश्येयं यदि तां कान्तां ततस्स्वस्ति भवेन्मम ॥ ४-१-१०१
If I find my dear beloved here on these mountain slopes full of passionate birds how happy will I not feel. ॥ 4-1-101॥

asminsAnuni ramye hi mattadvijagaNAyute । pazyeyaM yadi tAM kAntAM tatassvasti bhavenmama ॥ 4-1-101
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजीवेयं खलु सौमित्रे मया सह सुमध्यमा । सेवते यदि वैदेही पम्पायाः पवनं सुखम् ॥ ४-१-१०२
O Saumitri I can be alive and happy if Sita of slender waist enjoys here with me the sweet breeze of Pampa. ॥ 4-1-102॥
english translation
jIveyaM khalu saumitre mayA saha sumadhyamA । sevate yadi vaidehI pampAyAH pavanaM sukham ॥ 4-1-102
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपद्मसौगन्धिकवहं शिवं शोकविनाशनम् । धन्या लक्ष्मण सेवन्ते पम्पोपवनमारुतम् ॥ ४-१-१०३
O Lakshmana blessed are those who enjoy the breeze filled with fragrance of lotuses of the surrounding forests of Pampa. The gentle and auspicious breeze indeed takes away the sorrow of the mind. ॥ 4-1-103॥

padmasaugandhikavahaM zivaM zokavinAzanam । dhanyA lakSmaNa sevante pampopavanamArutam ॥ 4-1-103
hk transliteration by Sanscriptश्यामा पद्मपलाशाक्षी प्रिया विरहिता मया । कथं धारयति प्राणान्विवशा जनकात्मजा ॥ ४-१-१०४
How can Janaka's daughter with eyes like lotus petals, so young and loving, sustain her life? Away from me, she must be feeling quite dejected. ॥ 4-1-104॥

zyAmA padmapalAzAkSI priyA virahitA mayA । kathaM dhArayati prANAnvivazA janakAtmajA ॥ 4-1-104
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकिन्नु वक्ष्यामि राजानं धर्मज्ञं सत्यवादिनम् । सीताया जनकं पृष्टः कुशलं जनसंसदि ॥ ४-१-१०५
If righteous and truthful Janaka enquires about Sita's wellbeing in the assembly of people, what am I to speak ? ॥ 4-1-105॥

kinnu vakSyAmi rAjAnaM dharmajJaM satyavAdinam । sItAyA janakaM pRSTaH kuzalaM janasaMsadi ॥ 4-1-105
