पु॒रो॒ळा इत्तु॒र्वशो॒ यक्षु॑रासीद्रा॒ये मत्स्या॑सो॒ निशि॑ता॒ अपी॑व । श्रु॒ष्टिं च॑क्रु॒र्भृग॑वो द्रु॒ह्यव॑श्च॒ सखा॒ सखा॑यमतर॒द्विषू॑चोः ॥ पुरोळा इत्तुर्वशो यक्षुरासीद्राये मत्स्यासो निशिता अपीव । श्रुष्टिं चक्रुर्भृगवो द्रुह्यवश्च सखा सखायमतरद्विषूचोः ॥
Turvaśa, who was presiding (at solemn rites), diligent in sacrifice, (went to Sudāsa) for wealth; but likefishes restricted (to the element of water), the Bhrigus and Druhyus quickly assailed them; of these twoeverywhere going the friend (of Sudāsa, Indra) rescued his friend.

आ प॒क्थासो॑ भला॒नसो॑ भन॒न्तालि॑नासो विषा॒णिन॑: शि॒वास॑: । आ योऽन॑यत्सध॒मा आर्य॑स्य ग॒व्या तृत्सु॑भ्यो अजगन्यु॒धा नॄन् ॥ आ पक्थासो भलानसो भनन्तालिनासो विषाणिनः शिवासः । आ योऽनयत्सधमा आर्यस्य गव्या तृत्सुभ्यो अजगन्युधा नॄन् ॥
Those who dress the oblation, those who pronounce auspicious words, those who abstain frompenance, those who bear horns (in their hands), those who bestow happiness (on the world by sacrifice), glorifythat Indra, who recovered the cattle of the Arya from the plural nderers, who slew the enemies in battle.

दु॒रा॒ध्यो॒३॒॑ अदि॑तिं स्रे॒वय॑न्तोऽचे॒तसो॒ वि ज॑गृभ्रे॒ परु॑ष्णीम् । म॒ह्नावि॑व्यक्पृथि॒वीं पत्य॑मानः प॒शुष्क॒विर॑शय॒च्चाय॑मानः ॥ दुराध्यो अदितिं स्रेवयन्तोऽचेतसो वि जगृभ्रे परुष्णीम् । मह्नाविव्यक्पृथिवीं पत्यमानः पशुष्कविरशयच्चायमानः ॥
The evil-disposed and stupid (enemies of Sudāsa), crossing the humble Paruṣṇi river, have brokendown its banks; but he by his greatness pervades the earth, and Kavi, the son of Cāyamana, like a fallingvictim, sleeps (in death).

ई॒युरर्थं॒ न न्य॒र्थं परु॑ष्णीमा॒शुश्च॒नेद॑भिपि॒त्वं ज॑गाम । सु॒दास॒ इन्द्र॑: सु॒तुकाँ॑ अ॒मित्रा॒नर॑न्धय॒न्मानु॑षे॒ वध्रि॑वाचः ॥ ईयुरर्थं न न्यर्थं परुष्णीमाशुश्चनेदभिपित्वं जगाम । सुदास इन्द्रः सुतुकाँ अमित्रानरन्धयन्मानुषे वध्रिवाचः ॥
The waters followed their regular course to the Paruṣṇi, nor (wandered) beyond it; the quick courser(of the king) came to the accessible plural ces, and Indra made the idly-talking enemies, with their numerousprogeny, subject among men (to Sudāsa).

ई॒युर्गावो॒ न यव॑सा॒दगो॑पा यथाकृ॒तम॒भि मि॒त्रं चि॒तास॑: । पृश्नि॑गाव॒: पृश्नि॑निप्रेषितासः श्रु॒ष्टिं च॑क्रुर्नि॒युतो॒ रन्त॑यश्च ॥ ईयुर्गावो न यवसादगोपा यथाकृतमभि मित्रं चितासः । पृश्निगावः पृश्निनिप्रेषितासः श्रुष्टिं चक्रुर्नियुतो रन्तयश्च ॥
They who ride on particoloured cattle, (the Maruts), despatched by Pṛṣṇi and recalling theengagement made by them with their friend (Indra), came like cattle from the pasturage, when left without aherdsman; the exulting Niyut steeds brought them quickly (against the foe).
