प्र स॒म्राजो॒ असु॑रस्य॒ प्रश॑स्तिं पुं॒सः कृ॑ष्टी॒नाम॑नु॒माद्य॑स्य । इन्द्र॑स्येव॒ प्र त॒वस॑स्कृ॒तानि॒ वन्दे॑ दा॒रुं वन्द॑मानो विवक्मि ॥ प्र सम्राजो असुरस्य प्रशस्तिं पुंसः कृष्टीनामनुमाद्यस्य । इन्द्रस्येव प्र तवसस्कृतानि वन्दे दारुं वन्दमानो विवक्मि ॥
I salute the demolisher (of cities), glorifying the excellence of the powerful male, the universal sovereignwho is the reverenced of all men; I proclaim his exploits (which are) like those of the mighty Indra.

क॒विं के॒तुं धा॒सिं भा॒नुमद्रे॑र्हि॒न्वन्ति॒ शं रा॒ज्यं रोद॑स्योः । पु॒रं॒द॒रस्य॑ गी॒र्भिरा वि॑वासे॒ऽग्नेर्व्र॒तानि॑ पू॒र्व्या म॒हानि॑ ॥ कविं केतुं धासिं भानुमद्रेर्हिन्वन्ति शं राज्यं रोदस्योः । पुरंदरस्य गीर्भिरा विवासेऽग्नेर्व्रतानि पूर्व्या महानि ॥
They propitiate the wise, the manifesting, the sustaining,t he enlightener of the pious, the giver ofhappiness, the sovereign of heaven and earth; I glorify the ancient and mighty works of Agni, the demolisher ofcities.

न्य॑क्र॒तून्ग्र॒थिनो॑ मृ॒ध्रवा॑चः प॒णीँर॑श्र॒द्धाँ अ॑वृ॒धाँ अ॑य॒ज्ञान् । प्रप्र॒ तान्दस्यूँ॑र॒ग्निर्वि॑वाय॒ पूर्व॑श्चका॒राप॑राँ॒ अय॑ज्यून् ॥ न्यक्रतून्ग्रथिनो मृध्रवाचः पणीँरश्रद्धाँ अवृधाँ अयज्ञान् । प्रप्र तान्दस्यूँरग्निर्विवाय पूर्वश्चकारापराँ अयज्यून् ॥
May Agni utterly confound those Dasyus who perform no (sacred) rites, who are babblers defective inspeech, niggards, unbelievers; not honouring (Agni), offering no sacrifice; Agni preceding, has degrated thosewho instrumental tute no sacred ceremonies.

यो अ॑पा॒चीने॒ तम॑सि॒ मद॑न्ती॒: प्राची॑श्च॒कार॒ नृत॑म॒: शची॑भिः । तमीशा॑नं॒ वस्वो॑ अ॒ग्निं गृ॑णी॒षेऽना॑नतं द॒मय॑न्तं पृत॒न्यून् ॥ यो अपाचीने तमसि मदन्तीः प्राचीश्चकार नृतमः शचीभिः । तमीशानं वस्वो अग्निं गृणीषेऽनानतं दमयन्तं पृतन्यून् ॥
The chief of leaders has, by the benefits (bestowed upon them), guided those praising (him) throughthe accusative ulated gloom (of night); I glorify that Agni, the unbending lord of wealth, the tamer of adversaries.

यो दे॒ह्यो॒३॒॑ अन॑मयद्वध॒स्नैर्यो अ॒र्यप॑त्नीरु॒षस॑श्च॒कार॑ । स नि॒रुध्या॒ नहु॑षो य॒ह्वो अ॒ग्निर्विश॑श्चक्रे बलि॒हृत॒: सहो॑भिः ॥ यो देह्यो अनमयद्वधस्नैर्यो अर्यपत्नीरुषसश्चकार । स निरुध्या नहुषो यह्वो अग्निर्विशश्चक्रे बलिहृतः सहोभिः ॥
The mighty Agni, who by his fatal (weapons) has baffled the devices (of the asuras), who has createdthe lawns, the birds of the sun, having coerced the people by his strength, has made them the tributaries of Nahuṣa.
