ऊ॒र्ध्वो अ॒ग्निः सु॑म॒तिं वस्वो॑ अश्रेत्प्रती॒ची जू॒र्णिर्दे॒वता॑तिमेति । भे॒जाते॒ अद्री॑ र॒थ्ये॑व॒ पन्था॑मृ॒तं होता॑ न इषि॒तो य॑जाति ॥ ऊर्ध्वो अग्निः सुमतिं वस्वो अश्रेत्प्रतीची जूर्णिर्देवतातिमेति । भेजाते अद्री रथ्येव पन्थामृतं होता न इषितो यजाति ॥
Let Agni, risen on high, accept the praise of the worshipper; she who makes (all creatures) old, lookingto the west, goes to the sacrifice; the pious pair, like two riders in a chariot, follow the path (of the ceremony); letthe Hotā, as enjoined, celebrate the rite.

प्र वा॑वृजे सुप्र॒या ब॒र्हिरे॑षा॒मा वि॒श्पती॑व॒ बीरि॑ट इयाते । वि॒शाम॒क्तोरु॒षस॑: पू॒र्वहू॑तौ वा॒युः पू॒षा स्व॒स्तये॑ नि॒युत्वा॑न् ॥ प्र वावृजे सुप्रया बर्हिरेषामा विश्पतीव बीरिट इयाते । विशामक्तोरुषसः पूर्वहूतौ वायुः पूषा स्वस्तये नियुत्वान् ॥
The food-bestowing sacred grass of these (the worshippers) is strewn; may the two lords of people,Vāyu with the Niyut steeds, and Pūṣan, invoked before the dawn upon the close of the night, appear now inthe firmament for the welfare of mankind.

ज्म॒या अत्र॒ वस॑वो रन्त दे॒वा उ॒राव॒न्तरि॑क्षे मर्जयन्त शु॒भ्राः । अ॒र्वाक्प॒थ उ॑रुज्रयः कृणुध्वं॒ श्रोता॑ दू॒तस्य॑ ज॒ग्मुषो॑ नो अ॒स्य ॥ ज्मया अत्र वसवो रन्त देवा उरावन्तरिक्षे मर्जयन्त शुभ्राः । अर्वाक्पथ उरुज्रयः कृणुध्वं श्रोता दूतस्य जग्मुषो नो अस्य ॥
May the divine Vasus sport on this occasion upon the earth; the brilliant (Maruts) in the expansivefirmament are being worshipped; swift-moving deities, direct your paths towards us; hear (the words) of this ourmessenger, (Agni), approaching you.

ते हि य॒ज्ञेषु॑ य॒ज्ञिया॑स॒ ऊमा॑: स॒धस्थं॒ विश्वे॑ अ॒भि सन्ति॑ दे॒वाः । ताँ अ॑ध्व॒र उ॑श॒तो य॑क्ष्यग्ने श्रु॒ष्टी भगं॒ नास॑त्या॒ पुरं॑धिम् ॥ ते हि यज्ञेषु यज्ञियास ऊमाः सधस्थं विश्वे अभि सन्ति देवाः । ताँ अध्वर उशतो यक्ष्यग्ने श्रुष्टी भगं नासत्या पुरंधिम् ॥
These universal adorable guardian deities occupy a common station at sacrifices; worship, Agni, thosedivinities, deservers (of oblations) at the ceremony, the swift Bhaga, the Nāsatyās and Purandhi.

आग्ने॒ गिरो॑ दि॒व आ पृ॑थि॒व्या मि॒त्रं व॑ह॒ वरु॑ण॒मिन्द्र॑म॒ग्निम् । आर्य॒मण॒मदि॑तिं॒ विष्णु॑मेषां॒ सर॑स्वती म॒रुतो॑ मादयन्ताम् ॥ आग्ने गिरो दिव आ पृथिव्या मित्रं वह वरुणमिन्द्रमग्निम् । आर्यमणमदितिं विष्णुमेषां सरस्वती मरुतो मादयन्ताम् ॥
Bring Agni, whether from heaven or earth, the adorable deities Mitra, Varuṇa, Indra and Agni,Āryaman, Aditi and Viṣṇu (for the good) of these (worshippers); and may Sarasvatī and the Maruts bedelighted (by our offerings).
