जु॒षस्व॑ नः स॒मिध॑मग्ने अ॒द्य शोचा॑ बृ॒हद्य॑ज॒तं धू॒ममृ॒ण्वन् । उप॑ स्पृश दि॒व्यं सानु॒ स्तूपै॒: सं र॒श्मिभि॑स्ततन॒: सूर्य॑स्य ॥ जुषस्व नः समिधमग्ने अद्य शोचा बृहद्यजतं धूममृण्वन् । उप स्पृश दिव्यं सानु स्तूपैः सं रश्मिभिस्ततनः सूर्यस्य ॥
Be gratified, Agni, by the (sacred fire) kindled by us today, emitting abundant adorable smoke; touchwith your scorching flames the celestial summit; combine with the rays of the sun.

नरा॒शंस॑स्य महि॒मान॑मेषा॒मुप॑ स्तोषाम यज॒तस्य॑ य॒ज्ञैः । ये सु॒क्रत॑व॒: शुच॑यो धियं॒धाः स्वद॑न्ति दे॒वा उ॒भया॑नि ह॒व्या ॥ नराशंसस्य महिमानमेषामुप स्तोषाम यजतस्य यज्ञैः । ये सुक्रतवः शुचयो धियंधाः स्वदन्ति देवा उभयानि हव्या ॥
We celebrate with sacrifices the greatness of the adorable Narāśaṃsa among those who aredivinities, the performers of good works, the bright-shining, the upholders of rites, who partake of both kinds ofoblations.

ई॒ळेन्यं॑ वो॒ असु॑रं सु॒दक्ष॑म॒न्तर्दू॒तं रोद॑सी सत्य॒वाच॑म् । म॒नु॒ष्वद॒ग्निं मनु॑ना॒ समि॑द्धं॒ सम॑ध्व॒राय॒ सद॒मिन्म॑हेम ॥ ईळेन्यं वो असुरं सुदक्षमन्तर्दूतं रोदसी सत्यवाचम् । मनुष्वदग्निं मनुना समिद्धं समध्वराय सदमिन्महेम ॥
Let us ever worship the Agni who is to be adored by us; the mighty, the dextrous, the messengerpassing between heaven and earth, the speaker of truth, kindled (of old) by Manu, as now by men, that (he maycome) to the solemnity.

स॒प॒र्यवो॒ भर॑माणा अभि॒ज्ञु प्र वृ॑ञ्जते॒ नम॑सा ब॒र्हिर॒ग्नौ । आ॒जुह्वा॑ना घृ॒तपृ॑ष्ठं॒ पृष॑द्व॒दध्व॑र्यवो ह॒विषा॑ मर्जयध्वम् ॥ सपर्यवो भरमाणा अभिज्ञु प्र वृञ्जते नमसा बर्हिरग्नौ । आजुह्वाना घृतपृष्ठं पृषद्वदध्वर्यवो हविषा मर्जयध्वम् ॥
The worshippers bearing the sacred grass offer it with reverence, upon their knees, to Agni; worshiphim, priests, with oblations, invoking him to (sit down) on the spotted (grass), smeared with clarified butter.

स्वा॒ध्यो॒३॒॑ वि दुरो॑ देव॒यन्तोऽशि॑श्रयू रथ॒युर्दे॒वता॑ता । पू॒र्वी शिशुं॒ न मा॒तरा॑ रिहा॒णे सम॒ग्रुवो॒ न सम॑नेष्वञ्जन् ॥ स्वाध्यो वि दुरो देवयन्तोऽशिश्रयू रथयुर्देवताता । पूर्वी शिशुं न मातरा रिहाणे समग्रुवो न समनेष्वञ्जन् ॥
The devout performers of holy rites, desirous of chariots, have had recourse to the doors (of thesacrificial chamber); (the ladles), plural ced to the east, are plural ing the fire with ghee at sacrifices, as the mothercows lick the calf, or as rivers (water the fields).
