इत्युक्त्वा हनुमांस्तत्र पुनः कृष्णाजिनाम्बराम् । अब्रवीत्तां महाभागां तापसीं धर्मचारिणीम् ॥ ४-५१-१

On meeting the distinguished, righteous ascetic woman robed in deer skin, Hanuman said ॥ 4-51-1॥

ityuktvA hanumAMstatra punaH kRSNAjinAmbarAm । abravIttAM mahAbhAgAM tApasIM dharmacAriNIm ॥ 4-51-1

इदं प्रविष्टास्सहसा बिलं तिमिरसंवृतम् । क्षुत्पिपासापरिश्रान्ताः परिखिन्नाश्च सर्वशः ॥ ४-५१-२

- 'We are exhausted with thirst and hunger. We are fatigued. (Hence) we entered this dark cave all at once (without waiting for permission). ॥ 4-51-2॥

idaM praviSTAssahasA bilaM timirasaMvRtam । kSutpipAsAparizrAntAH parikhinnAzca sarvazaH ॥ 4-51-2

महद्धरण्या विवरं प्रविष्टाः स्म पिपासिताः । इमां स्त्वेवंविधान्भावान्विविधानद्भुतोपमान् ॥ ४-५१-३

'Thirst drove us into this cave on earth. At the kind of many wonderful objects here - ॥ 4-51-3॥

mahaddharaNyA vivaraM praviSTAH sma pipAsitAH । imAM stvevaMvidhAnbhAvAnvividhAnadbhutopamAn ॥ 4-51-3

दृष्ट्वा वयं प्रव्यथितास्सम्भ्रान्ता नष्टचेतसः । कस्यैते काञ्चना वृक्षास्तरुणादित्यसन्निभाः ॥ ४-५१-४

- we are amazed and have nearly lost our senses. We are tormented with pain. To whom do these golden trees resembling the rising Sun belong? ॥ 4-51-4॥

dRSTvA vayaM pravyathitAssambhrAntA naSTacetasaH । kasyaite kAJcanA vRkSAstaruNAdityasannibhAH ॥ 4-51-4

शुचीन्यभ्यवहार्याणि मूलानि च फलानि च । काञ्चनानि विमानानि राजतानि गृहाणि च ॥ ४-५१-५

'For whom are these tasty roots and fruits? Whose are these many-storeyed golden houses with . - ॥ 4-51-5॥
