विभज्य सततं वीर स्स राजा हरिसत्तम । हित्वा धर्मं तथाऽर्थं च कामं यस्तु निषेवते ॥ ४-३८-२१
- apportions his time properly, is a hero and deserves to be a king, O best among the heroic monkeys. One who neglects dharma and artha and pursues only kama (sensuous enjoyment) is . - ॥ 4-38-21॥

vibhajya satataM vIra ssa rAjA harisattama । hitvA dharmaM tathA'rthaM ca kAmaM yastu niSevate ॥ 4-38-21
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस वृक्षाग्रे यथा सुप्तः पतितः प्रतिबुध्यते । अमित्राणां वधे युक्तो मित्राणां सङ्ग्रहे रतः ॥ ४-३८-२२
- like a man asleep on top of the tree, waking up only to realize that he has fallen down. Who is engaged in slaying enemies and in the acquisition of right friends and is associated . - ॥ 4-38-22॥
english translation
sa vRkSAgre yathA suptaH patitaH pratibudhyate । amitrANAM vadhe yukto mitrANAM saGgrahe rataH ॥ 4-38-22
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्रिवर्गफलभोक्ता तु राजा धर्मेण युज्यते । उद्योगसमयस्त्वेषप्राप्तश्शत्रुविनाशन ॥ ४-३८-२३
- with righteousness, that king enjoys the fruits of all the three (dharma, artha and kama) goals of life. O slayer of enemies, the time to act has arrived. ॥ 4-38-23॥

trivargaphalabhoktA tu rAjA dharmeNa yujyate । udyogasamayastveSaprAptazzatruvinAzana ॥ 4-38-23
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसञ्चिन्त्यतां हि पिङ्गेश हरिभिस्सह मन्त्रिभिः । एवमुक्तस्तु सुग्रीवो रामं वचनमब्रवीत् ॥ ४-३८-२४
'O king of monkeys, think of the strategies with your ministers and other monkeys.' On hearing this, Sugriva said to Rama, ॥ 4-38-24॥

- 'O longarmed one the fortune, fame and soverignty of vanaras which was lost has been regained only by your grace. ॥ 4-38-25॥
