रुमाद्वितीयं सुग्रीवं नारीमध्यगतं स्थितम् । अब्रवील्लक्ष्मणः क्रुद्धस्सतारं शशिनं यथा ॥ ४-३४-६
Looking at Sugriva surrounded by Ruma and other women like the Moon among stars, infuriated Lakshmana said ॥ 4-34-6॥

rumAdvitIyaM sugrIvaM nArImadhyagataM sthitam । abravIllakSmaNaH kruddhassatAraM zazinaM yathA ॥ 4-34-6
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसत्त्वाभिजनसम्पन्नस्सानुक्रोशो जितेन्द्रियः । कृतज्ञस्सत्यवादी च राजा लोके महीयते ॥ ४-३४-७
- 'Only a king who is an heir to a noble family, compassionate, and selfcontrolled, grateful and truthful excels in the world. ॥ 4-34-7॥

sattvAbhijanasampannassAnukrozo jitendriyaH । kRtajJassatyavAdI ca rAjA loke mahIyate ॥ 4-34-7
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयस्तु राजा स्थितोऽधर्मे मित्राणामुपकारिणाम् । मिथ्या प्रतिज्ञां कुरुते को नृशंसतरस्ततः ॥ ४-३४-८
'Which king can be more malicious than the one who makes false promises and adopts an unrighteous path towards those who helped him? ॥ 4-34-8॥
english translation
yastu rAjA sthito'dharme mitrANAmupakAriNAm । mithyA pratijJAM kurute ko nRzaMsatarastataH ॥ 4-34-8
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशतमश्वानृते हन्ति सहस्रं तु गवानृते । आत्मानं स्वजनं हन्ति पुरुषः पुरुषानृते ॥ ४-३४-९
'If a man tells a lie about a horse, he commits the sin of killing a hundred horses. If one tells a lie about a cow, he shares the sin of killing a thousand cows. If one tells a lie about a man, it is equal to the sin of killing oneself and his own people. ॥ 4-34-9॥

zatamazvAnRte hanti sahasraM tu gavAnRte । AtmAnaM svajanaM hanti puruSaH puruSAnRte ॥ 4-34-9
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपूर्वं कृतार्थो मित्राणां न तत्प्रतिकरोति यः । कृतघ्नस्सर्वभूतानां स वध्यः प्लवगेश्वर ॥ ४-३४-१०
'O lord of monkeys he who, having accomplished his task first with the help of his friend, does not return the help is ungrateful. Such a person deserves to be killed. It applies to all beings. ॥ 4-34-10॥

pUrvaM kRtArtho mitrANAM na tatpratikaroti yaH । kRtaghnassarvabhUtAnAM sa vadhyaH plavagezvara ॥ 4-34-10
