न हि धर्मार्थसिद्ध्यर्थं पानमेवं प्रशस्यते । पानादर्थश्च धर्मश्च कामश्च परिहीयते ॥ ४-३३-४६
'Drinking this way does not help accomplishment of dharma and artha. It destroys wealth, ambition and righteousness. [4-33-46]
english translation
धर्मलोपो महांस्तावत्कृते ह्यप्रतिकुर्वतः । अर्थलोपश्च मित्रस्य नाशे गुणवतो महान् ॥ ४-३३-४७
'Dharma is violated when we help not one who has helped. Loss of a virtuous friend leads to great loss of wealth. It results in destruction. [4-33-47]

मित्रं ह्यर्थगुणश्रेष्ठं सत्यधर्मपरायणम् । तद्द्वयं तु परित्यक्तं न तु धर्मे व्यवस्थितम् ॥ ४-३३-४८
'Indeed a friend abide in truth and righteousness is greater than one's own means and aspirations, but you husband forsaking that pair of his means and aspirations that have been fulfilled by such a righteous friend, he is not even standing by the probity. [4-33-48]

तदेवं प्रस्तुते कार्ये कार्यमस्माभिरुत्तरम् । यत्कार्यं कार्यतत्त्वज्ञे तदुदाहर्तुमर्हसि ॥ ४-३३-४९
'You have a strong sense of duty. You ought to tell him his duty and what we should do in this situation.' [4-33-49]

सा तस्य धर्मार्थसमाधियुक्तं निशम्य वाक्यं मधुरस्वभावम् । तारा गतार्थे मनुजेन्द्रकार्ये विश्वासयुक्तं तमुवाच भूयः ॥ ४-३३-५०
Tara heard the sweet words of Lakshmana which showed his good understanding of dharma and artha. What she said to him in reply reflects her faith in Sugriva's effort to help Rama's cause [4-33-50]
