एषोऽस्थिनिचयस्तस्य दुन्दुभेस्सम्प्रकाशते । वीर्योत्सेकान्निरस्तस्य गिरिकूटोपमो महान् ॥ ४-११-६६
'Hurled with the pride of his ( Vali's ) prowess is this heap of bones of Dundubhi here, which shines like a huge mountain peak. ॥ 4-11-66॥
english translation
eSo'sthinicayastasya dundubhessamprakAzate । vIryotsekAnnirastasya girikUTopamo mahAn ॥ 4-11-66
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइमे च विपुलास्सालास्सप्त शाखावलम्बिनः । यत्रैकं घटते वाली निष्पत्रयितुमोजसा ॥ ४-११-६७
'Look at these seven sturdy Sala trees with branches of one overlapping the other. Vali was able to remove all the leaves of one Sala tree at a time ( with his strength ). ॥ 4-11-67॥

ime ca vipulAssAlAssapta zAkhAvalambinaH । yatraikaM ghaTate vAlI niSpatrayitumojasA ॥ 4-11-67
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएतदस्यासमं वीर्यं मया राम प्रकीर्तितम् । कथं तं वालिनं हन्तुं समरे शक्ष्यसे नृप ॥ ४-११-६८
'O Rama Vali's strength and fame related by me is unequalled. O king how is it possible for you to kill him in a combat?' ॥ 4-11-68॥
english translation
etadasyAsamaM vIryaM mayA rAma prakIrtitam । kathaM taM vAlinaM hantuM samare zakSyase nRpa ॥ 4-11-68
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतथा ब्रुवाणं सुग्रीवं प्रहसन् लक्ष्मणोऽब्रवीत् । कस्मिन्कर्मणि निर्वृत्ते श्रद्दध्या वालिनो वधम् ॥ ४-११-६९
Smiling, Lakshmana asked Sugriva, 'By what action will you trust?. By the fulfilment of which task ( by Rama ) will you have faith?' ॥ 4-11-69॥
english translation
tathA bruvANaM sugrIvaM prahasan lakSmaNo'bravIt । kasminkarmaNi nirvRtte zraddadhyA vAlino vadham ॥ 4-11-69
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतमुवाचाथ सुग्रीवस्सप्त सालानिमान्पुरा । एवमेकैकशो वाली विव्याथाथ स चासकृत् ॥ ४-११-७०
Then Sugriva told Lakshmana that earlier Vali had struck these seven Sala trees one after the other, several times. ॥ 4-11-70॥
