सदिव मनस्त्रिवृत्त्वयि विभात्यसदामनुजात् सदभिमृशन्त्यशेषमिदमात्मतयाऽऽत्मविदः । न हि विकृतिं त्यजन्ति कनकस्य तदात्मतया स्वकृतमनुप्रविष्टमिदमात्मतयावसितम् ।। १०-८७-२६ ।।

The three modes of material nature comprise everything in this world — from the simplest phenomena to the complex human body. Although these phenomena appear real, they are only a false reflection of the spiritual reality, being a superimposition of the mind upon You. Still, those who know the Supreme Self consider the entire material creation to be real inasmuch as it is nondifferent from the Self. Just as things made of gold are indeed not to be rejected, since their substance is actual gold, so this world is undoubtedly nondifferent from the Lord who created it and then entered within it. ।। 10-87-26 ।।

तव परि ये चरन्त्यखिलसत्त्वनिकेततया त उत पदाऽऽक्रमन्त्यविगणय्य शिरो निरृतेः । परिवयसे पशूनिव गिरा विबुधानपि तांस्त्वयि कृतसौहृदाः खलु पुनन्ति न ये विमुखाः ।। १०-८७-२७ ।।

sanskrit

The devotees who worship You as the shelter of all beings disregard Death and place their feet on his head. But with the words of the Vedas You bind the nondevotees like animals, though they be vastly learned scholars. It is Your affectionate devotees who can purify themselves and others, not those who are inimical to You. ।। 10-87-27 ।।

english translation

जो भक्त सभी प्राणियों के आश्रय के रूप में आपकी पूजा करते हैं, वे मृत्यु की उपेक्षा करते हैं और अपने पैरों को उसके सिर पर रखते हैं। परंतु वेदों की वाणी से आप अभक्तों को जानवरों की तरह बांध देते हैं, भले ही वे बहुत बड़े विद्वान हों। आपके स्नेही भक्त ही स्वयं को और दूसरों को शुद्ध कर सकते हैं, न कि वे जो आपके शत्रु हैं। ।। १०-८७-२७ ।।

त्वमकरणः स्वराडखिलकारकशक्तिधरः तव बलिमुद्वहन्ति समदन्त्यजयानिमिषाः । वर्षभुजोऽखिलक्षितिपतेरिव विश्वसृजो विदधति यत्र ये त्वधिकृता भवतश्चकिताः ।। १०-८७-२८ ।।

Though You have no material senses, You are the self-effulgent sustainer of everyone’s sensory powers. The demigods and material nature herself offer You tribute, while also enjoying the tribute offered them by their worshipers, just as subordinate rulers of various districts in a kingdom offer tribute to their lord, the ultimate proprietor of the land, while also enjoying the tribute paid them by their own subjects. In this way the universal creators faithfully execute their assigned services out of fear of You. ।। 10-87-28 ।।

यद्यपि आपके पास कोई भौतिक इन्द्रियाँ नहीं हैं, फिर भी आप सभी की इन्द्रिय शक्तियों के स्वयं-तेजस्वी पालनकर्ता हैं। देवता और भौतिक प्रकृति स्वयं आपको श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हैं, साथ ही वे अपने उपासकों द्वारा दी गई श्रद्धांजलि का आनंद भी लेते हैं, जैसे एक राज्य में विभिन्न जिलों के अधीनस्थ शासक अपने स्वामी, भूमि के परम मालिक को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हैं, साथ ही वे दी गई श्रद्धांजलि का आनंद भी लेते हैं। उन्हें उनके अपने विषयों द्वारा. इस प्रकार सार्वभौमिक निर्माता आपके भय से अपनी सौंपी गई सेवाओं को ईमानदारी से निष्पादित करते हैं। ।। १०-८७-२८ ।।

स्थिरचरजातयः स्युरजयोत्थनिमित्तयुजो विहर उदीक्षया यदि परस्य विमुक्त ततः । न हि परमस्य कश्चिदपरो न परश्च भवेत् वियत इवापदस्य तव शून्यतुलां दधतः ।। १०-८७-२९ ।।

O eternally liberated, transcendental Lord, Your material energy causes the various moving and nonmoving species of life to appear by activating their material desires, but only when and if You sport with her by briefly glancing at her. You, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, see no one as an intimate friend and no one as a stranger, just as the ethereal sky has no connection with perceptible qualities. In this sense You resemble a void. ।। 10-87-29 ।।

english translation

हे शाश्वत रूप से मुक्त, दिव्य भगवान, आपकी भौतिक ऊर्जा जीवन की विभिन्न चर और अचर प्रजातियों को उनकी भौतिक इच्छाओं को सक्रिय करके प्रकट होने का कारण बनती है, लेकिन केवल तभी जब आप उस पर संक्षेप में नज़र डालकर उसके साथ खेलते हैं। आप, भगवान के सर्वोच्च व्यक्तित्व, किसी को भी घनिष्ठ मित्र के रूप में नहीं देखते हैं और न ही किसी को अजनबी के रूप में देखते हैं, जैसे कि ईथर आकाश का प्रत्यक्ष गुणों से कोई संबंध नहीं है। इस अर्थ में आप एक शून्य के समान हैं। ।। १०-८७-२९ ।।

अपरिमिता ध्रुवास्तनुभृतो यदि सर्वगताः तर्हि न शास्यतेति नियमो ध्रुव नेतरथा । अजनि च यन्मयं तदविमुच्य नियन्तृ भवेत् सममनुजानतां यदमतं मतदुष्टतया ।। १०-८७-३० ।।

If the countless living entities were all-pervading and possessed forms that never changed, You could not possibly be their absolute ruler, O immutable one. But since they are Your localized expansions and their forms are subject to change, You do control them. Indeed, that which supplies the ingredients for the generation of something is necessarily its controller because a product never exists apart from its ingredient cause. It is simply illusion for someone to think that he knows the Supreme Lord, who is equally present in each of His expansions, since whatever knowledge one gains by material means must be imperfect. ।। 10-87-30 ।।

यदि असंख्य जीव सर्वव्यापी होते और उनके ऐसे रूप होते जो कभी नहीं बदलते, तो आप संभवतः उनके पूर्ण शासक नहीं हो सकते, हे अपरिवर्तनीय। लेकिन चूँकि वे आपके स्थानीय विस्तार हैं और उनके रूप परिवर्तन के अधीन हैं, आप उन पर नियंत्रण रखते हैं। दरअसल, जो किसी चीज़ की उत्पत्ति के लिए सामग्री की आपूर्ति करता है, वह आवश्यक रूप से उसका नियंत्रक होता है क्योंकि कोई उत्पाद कभी भी अपने घटक कारण से अलग नहीं होता है। किसी के लिए यह सोचना केवल भ्रम है कि वह सर्वोच्च भगवान को जानता है, जो अपने प्रत्येक विस्तार में समान रूप से मौजूद है, क्योंकि भौतिक साधनों से जो भी ज्ञान प्राप्त होता है वह अपूर्ण होना चाहिए। ।। १०-८७-३० ।।
