श्रीशुक उवाच सुखोपविष्टः पर्यङ्के रामकृष्णोरुमानितः । लेभे मनोरथान् सर्वान् पथि यान् स चकार ह ॥ १०-३९-१ ॥
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Having been honored so much by Lord Balarāma and Lord Kṛṣṇa, Akrūra, seated comfortably on a couch, felt that all the desires he had contemplated on the road were now fulfilled. ॥ 10-39-1 ॥
english translation
शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा : भगवान् बलराम तथा भगवान् कृष्ण द्वारा इतना अधिक सम्मानित किये जाने पर पलंग में सुखपूर्वक बैठे अक्रूर को लगा कि उन्होंने रास्ते में जितनी इच्छाएँ की थीं वे सभी अब पूरी हो गई हैं। ॥ १०-३९-१ ॥

किमलभ्यं भगवति प्रसन्ने श्रीनिकेतने । तथापि तत्परा राजन्न हि वाञ्छन्ति किञ्चन ॥ १०-३९-२ ॥
My dear King, what is unattainable for one who has satisfied the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the shelter of the goddess of fortune? Even so, those who are dedicated to His devotional service never want anything from Him. ॥ 10-39-2 ॥

हे राजन्, जिसने लक्ष्मी के आश्रय पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् को सन्तुष्ट कर लिया हो भला उसके लिए क्या अलभ्य है? ऐसा होने पर भी जो उनकी भक्ति में समर्पित हैं, वे कभी भी उनसे कुछ नहीं चाहते। ॥ १०-३९-२ ॥

सायन्तनाशनं कृत्वा भगवान् देवकीसुतः । सुहृत्सु वृत्तं कंसस्य पप्रच्छान्यच्चिकीर्षितम् ॥ १०-३९-३ ॥
After the evening meal, Lord Kṛṣṇa, the son of Devakī, asked Akrūra how Kaṁsa was treating their dear relatives and friends and what the King was planning to do. ॥ 10-39-3 ॥

शाम के भोजन के बाद देवकीपुत्र भगवान् कृष्ण ने अक्रूर से पूछा कि कंस अपने प्रिय सम्बन्धियों तथा मित्रों के साथ कैसा बर्ताव कर रहा है और वह क्या करने की योजना बना रहा है। ॥ १०-३९-३ ॥

श्रीभगवानुवाच तात सौम्यागतः कच्चित्स्वागतं भद्रमस्तु वः । अपि स्वज्ञातिबन्धूनामनमीवमनामयम् ॥ १०-३९-४ ॥
The Supreme Lord said: My dear, gentle Uncle Akrūra, was your trip here comfortable? May all good fortune be yours. Are our well-wishing friends and our relatives, both close and distant, happy and in good health? ॥ 10-39-4 ॥
english translation
भगवान् ने कहा : हे भद्र पुरुष, प्रिय चाचा अक्रूर, यहाँ की आपकी यात्रा सुखद तो रही? आपका कल्याण हो। हमारे शुभचिन्तक मित्र तथा हमारे निकट और दूर के सम्बन्धी सुखी तथा स्वस्थ तो हैं? ॥ १०-३९-४ ॥

किं नु नः कुशलं पृच्छे एधमाने कुलामये । कंसे मातुलनाम्न्यङ्ग स्वानां नस्तत्प्रजासु च ॥ १०-३९-५ ॥
But, my dear Akrūra, as long as King Kaṁsa — that disease of our family who goes by the name “maternal uncle” — is still prospering, why should I even bother to ask about the well-being of our family members and his other subjects? ॥ 10-39-5 ॥
english translation
किन्तु हे अक्रूर, जब तक मामा कहलाने वाला तथा हमारे परिवार के लिए रोगस्वरूप राजा कंस समृद्ध हो रहे हैं, तब तक मैं अपने परिवार वालों तथा उसकी अन्य प्रजा के विषय में पूछने की झंझट में पड़ूँ ही क्यों? ॥ १०-३९-५ ॥
