श्रीशुक उवाच अथ तर्ह्यागतो गोष्ठमरिष्टो वृषभासुरः । महीं महाककुत्कायः कम्पयन् खुरविक्षताम् ॥ १०-३६-१ ॥
Śukadeva Goswāmī said: The demon Ariṣṭa then came to the cowherd village. Appearing in the form of a bull with a large hump, he made the earth tremble as he tore it apart with his hooves. ॥ 10-36-1 ॥
english translation
शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा : तत्पश्चात् अरिष्टासुर गोपों के गाँव में आया। वह बड़े डिल्ले वाले बैल के रूप में प्रकट होकर अपने खुरों से पृथ्वी को क्षत-विक्षत करके उसे कँपाने लगा। ॥ १०-३६-१ ॥

रम्भमाणः खरतरं पदा च विलिखन् महीम् । उद्यम्य पुच्छं वप्राणि विषाणाग्रेण चोद्धरन् किञ्चित्किञ्चिच्छकृन्मुञ्चन् मूत्रयन् स्तब्धलोचनः ॥ १०-३६-२ ॥
Ariṣṭāsura bellowed very harshly and pawed the ground. With his tail raised and his eyes glaring, he began to tear up the embankments with the tips of his horns, every now and then passing a little stool and urine. ॥ 10-36-2 ॥
english translation
अरिष्टासुर ने जोर से रँभाते हुए धरती को खुरों से कुरेदा। वह अपनी पूँछ उठाये और अपनी आँखें चमकाता अपने सींगों के नौकों से बाँधों को चीरने लगा और बीच बीच में थोड़ा थोड़ा मल-मूत्र भी छोड़ता जाता था। ॥ १०-३६-२ ॥

यस्य निर्ह्रादितेनाङ्ग निष्ठुरेण गवां नृणाम् । पतन्त्यकालतो गर्भाः स्रवन्ति स्म भयेन वै ॥ १०-३६-३ ॥
My dear King, clouds hovered about sharp-horned Ariṣṭāsura’s hump, mistaking it for a mountain, and when the cowherd men and ladies caught sight of the demon, they were struck with terror. Indeed, ॥ 10-36-3 ॥

हे राजन्, तीखे सींगो वाले अरिष्टासुर के डिल्ले को पर्वत समझकर बादल उसके आसपास मँडराने लगे, अत: जब ग्वालों तथा गोपियों ने उस असुर को देखा तो वे भयभीत हो उठे। ॥ १०-३६-३ ॥

निर्विशन्ति घना यस्य ककुद्यचलशङ्कया । तं तीक्ष्णशृङ्गमुद्वीक्ष्य गोप्यो गोपाश्च तत्रसुः ॥ १०-३६-४ ॥
The strident reverberation of his roar so frightened the pregnant cows and women that they lost their fetuses in miscarriages. ॥ 10-36-4 ॥

दरअसल उसकी गर्जना की तीव्र गूँज इतनी भयावह थी कि गर्भिणी गौवों तथा स्त्रियों के गर्भपात हो गये। ॥ १०-३६-४ ॥

पशवो दुद्रुवुर्भीता राजन् सन्त्यज्य गोकुलम् । कृष्ण कृष्णेति ते सर्वे गोविन्दं शरणं ययु: ॥ १०-३६-५ ॥
The domestic animals fled the pasture in fear, O King, and all the inhabitants rushed to Lord Govinda for shelter, crying, “Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa!” ॥ 10-36-5 ॥
english translation
हे राजन्, घरेलू पशु भय के मारे चरागाह से भाग गये और सारे निवासी “कृष्ण कृष्ण” चिल्लाते हुए शरण के लिए भगवान् गोविन्द के पास दौड़े। ॥ १०-३६-५ ॥
