भगवानपि तद्वीक्ष्य गोकुलं भयविद्रुतम् । मा भैष्टेति गिराऽऽश्वास्य वृषासुरमुपाह्वयत् ॥ १०-३६-६ ॥
When the Supreme Lord saw the cowherd community distraught and fleeing in fear, He calmed them, saying, “Don’t be afraid.” Then He called out to the bull demon as follows. ॥ 10-36-6 ॥
english translation
जब भगवान् ने देखा कि सारा गोकुल भय के मारे भगा जा रहा है, तो उन्होंने यह कहकर उन्हें आश्वासन दिया, “डरना मत।” तत्पश्चात् उन्होंने वृषासुर को इस प्रकार ललकारा। ॥ १०-३६-६ ॥

bhagavAnapi tadvIkSya gokulaM bhayavidrutam । mA bhaiSTeti girA''zvAsya vRSAsuramupAhvayat ॥ 10-36-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगोपालैः पशुभिर्मन्द त्रासितैः किमसत्तम । बलदर्पहा दुष्टानां त्वद्विधानां दुरात्मनाम् ॥ १०-३६-७ ॥
You fool! What do you think you’re doing, you wicked rascal, frightening the cowherd community and their animals when I am here just to punish corrupt miscreants like you! ॥ 10-36-7 ॥
english translation
रे मूर्ख! रे दुष्ट! तुम क्या सोचकर ग्वालों को तथा उनके पशुओं को डरा रहे हो जबकि मैं तुम जैसे दुरात्माओं को दण्ड देने के लिए यहाँ हूँ। ॥ १०-३६-७ ॥

gopAlaiH pazubhirmanda trAsitaiH kimasattama । baladarpahA duSTAnAM tvadvidhAnAM durAtmanAm ॥ 10-36-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्यास्फोट्याच्युतोऽरिष्टं तलशब्देन कोपयन् । सख्युरंसे भुजाभोगं प्रसार्यावस्थितो हरिः ॥ १०-३६-८ ॥
Having spoken these words, the infallible Lord Hari slapped His arms with His palms, further angering Ariṣṭa with the loud sound. The Lord then casually threw His mighty, serpentine arm over the shoulder of a friend and stood facing the demon. ॥ 10-36-8 ॥

ये शब्द कहकर अच्युत भगवान् हरि ने अपनी हथेलियों से अपनी बाँहें ठोंकीं जिससे जोर की ध्वनि से अरिष्ट और अधिक क्रुद्ध हो उठा। तब भगवान् अपनी बलशाली सर्प जैसी बाँह अपने एक सखा के कन्धे पर डालकर असुर की ओर मुँह करके खड़े हो गये। ॥ १०-३६-८ ॥

ityAsphoTyAcyuto'riSTaM talazabdena kopayan । sakhyuraMse bhujAbhogaM prasAryAvasthito hariH ॥ 10-36-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसोऽप्येवं कोपितोऽरिष्टः खुरेणावनिमुल्लिखन् । उद्यत्पुच्छभ्रमन्मेघः क्रुद्धः कृष्णमुपाद्रवत् ॥ १०-३६-९ ॥
Thus provoked, Ariṣṭa pawed the ground with one of his hooves and then, with the clouds hovering around his upraised tail, furiously charged Kṛṣṇa. ॥ 10-36-9 ॥

इस तरह उकसाने पर अरिष्ट ने अपने एक खुर से धरती कुरेदी और तब वह क्रोध के साथ कृष्ण पर झपटा। ऊपर उठी हुई उसकी पूँछ के चारों ओर बादल मँडरा रहे थे। ॥ १०-३६-९ ॥

so'pyevaM kopito'riSTaH khureNAvanimullikhan । udyatpucchabhramanmeghaH kruddhaH kRSNamupAdravat ॥ 10-36-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअग्रन्यस्तविषाणाग्रः स्तब्धासृग्लोचनोऽच्युतम् । कटाक्षिप्याद्रवत्तूर्णमिन्द्रमुक्तोऽशनिर्यथा ॥ १०-३६-१० ॥
Pointing the tips of his horns straight ahead and glaring menacingly at Lord Kṛṣṇa from the corners of his bloodshot eyes, Ariṣṭa rushed toward Him at full speed, like a thunderbolt hurled by Indra. ॥ 10-36-10 ॥
english translation
अपने सींगों के अग्रभाग सामने की ओर सीधे किये हुए तथा अपनी रक्तिम आँखों की बगल से तिरछे घूर कर भय दिखाकर अरिष्ट पूरे वेग से कृष्ण की ओर झपटा मानो इन्द्र द्वारा चलाया गया वज्र हो। ॥ १०-३६-१० ॥
