श्रीशुक उवाच अथ सर्वगुणोपेतः कालः परमशोभनः । यर्ह्येवाजनजन्मर्क्षं शान्तर्क्षग्रहतारकम् ॥ १०-३-१ ॥
Thereafter, at the auspicious time for the appearance of the Lord, the entire universe was surcharged with all the qualities of goodness, beauty and peace. The constellation Rohiṇī appeared, as did stars like Aśvinī. ॥ 10-3-1 ॥

तत्पश्चात् भगवान् के आविर्भाव की शुभ बेला में सारा ब्रह्माण्ड सतोगुण, सौन्दर्य तथा शान्ति से युक्त हो गया। रोहिणी नक्षत्र तथा अश्विनी जैसे तारे निकल आए। ॥ १०-३-१ ॥

The constellation Rohiṇī appeared, as did stars like Aśvinī. The sun, the moon and the other stars and planets were very peaceful. All directions appeared extremely pleasing, and the beautiful stars twinkled in the cloudless sky. Decorated with towns, villages, mines and pasturing grounds, the earth seemed all-auspicious. ॥ 10-3-2 ॥

सारी दिशाएँ अत्यन्त सुहावनी लगने लगीं और मनभावन नक्षत्र निरभ्र आकाश में टिमटिमाने लगे। नगरों, ग्रामों, खानों तथा चरागाहों से अलंकृत पृथ्वी सर्व-मंगलमय प्रतीत होने लगी। ॥ १०-३-२ ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptनद्यः प्रसन्नसलिला ह्रदा जलरुहश्रियः । द्विजालिकुलसन्नादस्तबका वनराजयः ॥ १०-३-३ ॥
The rivers flowed with clear water, and the lakes and vast reservoirs, full of lilies and lotuses, were extraordinarily beautiful. In the trees and green plants, full of flowers and leaves, pleasing to the eyes, birds like cuckoos and swarms of bees began chanting with sweet voices for the sake of the demigods. ॥ 10-3-3 ॥

निर्मल जल से युक्त नदियाँ प्रवाहित होने लगीं और सरोवर तथा विशाल जलाशय कमलों तथा कुमुदिनियों से पूर्ण होकर अत्यधिक सुन्दर लगने लगे। फूलों- पत्तियों से पूर्ण एवं देखने में सुहावने लगने वाले वृक्षों और हरे पौधों में कोयलों जैसे पक्षी तथा भौरों के झुण्ड देवताओं के लिए मधुर ध्वनि में गुंजार करने लगे। ॥ १०-३-३ ॥

nadyaH prasannasalilA hradA jalaruhazriyaH । dvijAlikulasannAdastabakA vanarAjayaH ॥ 10-3-3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptववौ वायुः सुखस्पर्शः पुण्यगन्धवहः शुचिः । अग्नयश्च द्विजातीनां शान्तास्तत्र समिन्धत ॥ १०-३-४ ॥
A pure breeze began to blow, pleasing the sense of touch and bearing the aroma of flowers, and when the brāhmaṇas engaging in ritualistic ceremonies ignited their fires according to Vedic principles, the fires burned steadily, undisturbed by the breeze. ॥ 10-3-4 ॥

निर्मल मन्द वायु बहने लगी जिसका स्पर्श सुखद था और जो फूलों की गन्ध से युक्त थी। जब कर्मकाण्ड में लगे ब्राह्मणों ने वैदिक नियमानुसार अग्नि प्रज्ज्वलित की तो अग्नि इस वायु से अविचलित रहती हुई स्थिर भाव से जलने लगी। ॥ १०-३-४ ॥

vavau vAyuH sukhasparzaH puNyagandhavahaH zuciH । agnayazca dvijAtInAM zAntAstatra samindhata ॥ 10-3-4 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमनांस्यासन् प्रसन्नानि साधूनामसुरद्रुहाम् । जायमानेऽजने तस्मिन् नेदुर्दुन्दुभयो दिवि ॥ १०-३-५ ॥
Thus when the birthless Lord Viṣṇu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, was about to appear, the saints and brāhmaṇas, who had always been disturbed by demons like Kaṁsa and his men, felt peace within the core of their hearts, and kettledrums simultaneously vibrated from the upper planetary system. Purport ॥ 10-3-5 ॥

इस तरह जब अजन्मा भगवान् विष्णु प्रकट होने को हुए तो कंस जैसे असुरों तथा उसके अनुचरों द्वारा सताए गए साधुजनों तथा ब्राह्मणों को अपने हृदयों के भीतर शान्ति प्रतीत होने लगी और उसी समय स्वर्ग में दुन्दुभियाँ बज उठीं। ॥ १०-३-५ ॥
