अक्षैः सभायां क्रीडन्तं भगवन्तं भयातुराः । त्राहि त्राहि त्रिलोकेश वह्नेः प्रदहतः पुरम् ।। १०-६६-३६ ।।

Distraught with fear, the people cried out to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who was then playing at dice in the royal court: “Save us! Save us, O Lord of the three worlds, from this fire burning up the city!” ।। 10-66-36 ।।

english translation

भय से व्याकुल होकर, लोगों ने भगवान के परम व्यक्तित्व को पुकारा, जो उस समय शाही दरबार में पासा खेल रहे थे: "हमें बचाओ! हमें बचाओ!" हे तीनों लोकों के स्वामी, हमें इस शहर को जलाने वाली आग से बचाएं!” ।। १०-६६-३६ ।।

When Lord Kṛṣṇa heard the people’s agitation and saw that even His own men were disturbed, that most worthy giver of shelter simply laughed and told them, “Do not fear; I shall protect you.” ।। 10-66-37 ।।

जब भगवान कृष्ण ने लोगों की हलचल सुनी और देखा कि उनके अपने लोग भी परेशान हैं, तो शरण देने वाले सबसे योग्य दाता हँसे और उनसे कहा, “डरो मत; मैं तुम्हारी रक्षा करूंगा।” ।। १०-६६-३७ ।।

The almighty Lord, the internal and external witness of all, understood that the monster had been produced by Lord Śiva from the sacrificial fire. To defeat the demon, Kṛṣṇa dispatched His disc weapon, who was waiting at His side. ।। 10-66-38 ।।

सर्वशक्तिमान भगवान, सबके आंतरिक और बाह्य साक्षी, समझ गए कि राक्षस को भगवान शिव ने यज्ञ की अग्नि से उत्पन्न किया था। राक्षस को हराने के लिए, कृष्ण ने अपना चक्र हथियार भेजा, जो उनकी तरफ इंतजार कर रहा था। ।। १०-६६-३८ ।।

That Sudarśana, the disc weapon of Lord Mukunda, blazed forth like millions of suns. His effulgence blazed like the fire of universal annihilation, and with his heat he pained the sky, all the directions, heaven and earth, and also the fiery demon. ।। 10-66-39 ।।

भगवान मुकुन्द का वह चक्र सुदर्शन लाखों सूर्यों के समान चमक रहा था। उनका तेज सार्वभौमिक विनाश की आग की तरह चमक रहा था, और उन्होंने अपनी गर्मी से आकाश, सभी दिशाओं, स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी और उग्र दानव को भी पीड़ा दी। ।। १०-६६-३९ ।।

कृत्यानलः प्रतिहतः स रथाङ्गपाणेरस्त्रौजसा स नृप भग्नमुखो निवृत्तः । वाराणसीं परिसमेत्य सुदक्षिणं तं सर्त्विग्जनं समदहत्स्वकृतोऽभिचारः ।। १०-६६-४० ।।

Frustrated by the power of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s weapon, O King, the fiery creature produced by black magic turned his face away and retreated. Created for violence, the demon then returned to Vārāṇasī, where he surrounded the city and then burned Sudakṣiṇa and his priests to death, even though Sudakṣiṇa was his creator. ।। 10-66-40 ।।

हे राजन, भगवान कृष्ण के हथियार की शक्ति से निराश होकर, काले जादू से उत्पन्न उग्र प्राणी ने अपना चेहरा घुमा लिया और पीछे हट गया। हिंसा के लिए बनाया गया राक्षस फिर वाराणसी लौट आया, जहां उसने शहर को घेर लिया और फिर सुदक्षिण और उसके पुजारियों को जलाकर मार डाला, भले ही सुदक्षिण उसका निर्माता था। ।। १०-६६-४० ।।
