अन्यानि चेत्थं भूतानि स्वप्नजागरितानि च । पश्यन् मरणसन्त्रस्तो निद्रां लेभे न चिन्तया ॥ १०-४२-३१ ॥
Seeing these and other such omens both while dreaming and while awake, Kaṁsa was terrified by the prospect of death, and out of anxiety he could not sleep. ॥ 10-42-31 ॥
english translation
इन तथा अन्य ऐसे अपशकुनों को स्वप्न में तथा जागते हुए देखकर कंस अपनी मृत्यु की सम्भावना से भयभीत था और चिन्ता के कारण वह सो न सका। ॥ १०-४२-३१ ॥

anyAni cetthaM bhUtAni svapnajAgaritAni ca । pazyan maraNasantrasto nidrAM lebhe na cintayA ॥ 10-42-31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptव्युष्टायां निशि कौरव्य सूर्ये चाद्भ्यः समुत्थिते । कारयामास वै कंसो मल्लक्रीडामहोत्सवम् ॥ १०-४२-३२ ॥
When the night had finally passed and the sun rose up again from the water, Kaṁsa set about arranging for the grand wrestling festival. ॥ 10-42-32 ॥

जब अन्तत: रात बीत गई और सूर्य पुन: जल में से ऊपर निकला तो कंस विशाल कुश्ती- उत्सव (दंगल) का आयोजन करने लगा। ॥ १०-४२-३२ ॥

vyuSTAyAM nizi kauravya sUrye cAdbhyaH samutthite । kArayAmAsa vai kaMso mallakrIDAmahotsavam ॥ 10-42-32 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआनर्चुः पुरुषा रङ्गं तूर्यभेर्यश्च जघ्निरे । मञ्चाश्चालङ्कृताः स्रग्भिः पताकाचैलतोरणैः ॥ १०-४२-३३ ॥
The King’s men performed the ritual worship of the wrestling arena, sounded their drums and other instruments and decorated the viewing galleries with garlands, flags, ribbons and arches. ॥ 10-42-33 ॥

राजा के लोगों ने मल्लस्थल (दंगल) की विधिवत् पूजा की, अपने ढोल तथा अन्य वाद्य बजाये और दर्शकदीर्घाओं को मालाओं, झंडियों, फीतों तथा बन्दनवारों से खूब सजाया गया। ॥ १०-४२-३३ ॥

The city-dwellers and residents of the outlying districts, led by brāhmaṇas and kṣatriyas, came and sat down comfortably in the galleries. The royal guests received special seats. ॥ 10-42-34 ॥

नगरनिवासी तथा पड़ोसी जिलों के निवासी ब्राह्मण तथा क्षत्रियों इत्यादि के साथ आये और दीर्घाओं में सुखपूर्वक बैठ गये। राजसी अतिथियों को विशिष्ट स्थान दिये गये। ॥ १०-४२-३४ ॥

Surrounded by his ministers, Kaṁsa took his seat on the imperial dais. But even as he sat amidst his various provincial rulers, his heart trembled. ॥ 10-42-35 ॥

अपने मंत्रियों से घिरा हुआ कंस अपने राजमंच पर आसीन हुआ। किन्तु अपने विविध मण्डलेश्वरों के बीच में बैठे हुए भी उसका हृदय काँप रहा था। ॥ १०-४२-३५ ॥
