आरुह्यैका पदाऽऽक्रम्य शिरस्याहापरां नृप । दुष्टाहे गच्छ जातोऽहं खलानां ननु दण्डधृक् ॥ १०-३०-२१ ॥
[Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued:] O King, one gopī climbed on another’s shoulders and, putting her foot on the other’s head, said, “Go away from here, O wicked snake! You should know that I have taken birth in this world just to punish the envious.” ॥ 10-30-21 ॥

[शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा] हे राजन्, एक गोपी दूसरी के कन्धे पर चढ़ गई और अपना पाँव एक अन्य गोपी के सिर पर रखती हुई बोली “रे दुष्ट सर्प, यहाँ से चले जाओ, तुम जान लो कि मैंने इस जगत में दुष्टों को दण्ड देने के लिए ही जन्म लिया है।” ॥ १०-३०-२१ ॥

तत्रैकोवाच हे गोपा दावाग्निं पश्यतोल्बणम् । चक्षूंष्याश्वपिदध्वं वो विधास्ये क्षेममञ्जसा ॥ १०-३०-२२ ॥
Then another gopī spoke up: My dear cowherd boys, look at this raging forest fire! Quickly close your eyes and I will easily protect you. ॥ 10-30-22 ॥

तब एक दूसरी गोपी बोल पड़ी, मेरे प्रिय ग्वालबालो, जंगल में लगी इस आग को तो देखो, तुरन्त अपनी आँखें मूँद लो। मैं आसानी से तुम्हारी रक्षा करूँगी। ॥ १०-३०-२२ ॥

(बद्धान्यया स्रजा काचित्तन्वी तत्र उलूखले ।) बध्नामि भाण्डभेत्तारं हैयङ्गवमुषं त्विति । भीता सुदृक् पिधायास्यं भेजे भीतिविडम्बनम् ॥ १०-३०-२३ ॥
One gopī tied up her slender companion with a flower garland and said, “Now I will bind this boy who has broken the butter pots and stolen the butter.” The second gopī then covered her face and beautiful eyes, pretending to be afraid. ॥ 10-30-23 ॥

एक गोपी ने अपनी एक छरहरी सी सखी को फूलों की माला से बाँध दिया और कहा, “अब मैं इस बालक को बाँध दूँगी जिसने मक्खन की हँडिया तोड़ दी है और मक्खन चुरा लिया है।” तब दूसरी गोपी अपना मुँह तथा सुन्दर आँखें अपने हाथ से ढक कर भयभीत होने की नकल करने लगी। ॥ १०-३०-२३ ॥

एवं कृष्णं पृच्छमाना वृन्दावनलतास्तरून् । व्यचक्षत वनोद्देशे पदानि परमात्मनः ॥ १०-३०-२४ ॥
While the gopīs were thus imitating Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes and asking Vṛndāvana’s creepers and trees where Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Soul, might be, they happened to see His footprints in a corner of the forest. ॥ 10-30-24 ॥

जब गोपियाँ इस तरह कृष्ण की लीलाओं की नकल कर उतार रही थीं और वृन्दावन की लताओं तथा वृक्षों से पूछ रही थीं कि भगवान् कृष्ण कहाँ हो सकते हैं, तो उन्हें जंगल के एक कोने में उनके पदचिन्ह दिख गये। ॥ १०-३०-२४ ॥

पदानि व्यक्तमेतानि नन्दसूनोर्महात्मनः । लक्ष्यन्ते हि ध्वजाम्भोजवज्राङ्कुशयवादिभिः ॥ १०-३०-२५ ॥
[The gopīs said:] The marks of a flag, lotus, thunderbolt, elephant goad, barleycorn and so forth on these footprints clearly distinguish them as belonging to that great soul, the son of Nanda Mahārāja. ॥ 10-30-25 ॥
english translation
[गोपियों ने कहा]: इन पदचिन्हों में ध्वजा, कमल, वज्र, अंकुश, जौ की बाली इत्यादि के चिन्ह स्पष्ट बतलाते हैं कि ये नन्द महाराज के पुत्र उसी महान आत्मा (कृष्ण) के हैं। ॥ १०-३०-२५ ॥
